Successful records management requires an organisation to have strategy that covers all functions of the organisation and that is second nature to all personnel. The development of such a strategy requires a Records Management Audit to be undertaken, that is a complete review and analysis of the current records management practices within the organisation.
It results in the development of filing procedures, a retention and destruction policy and a long term reduction in costs. We recommend that an Audit be undertaken prior to beginning any changes to a Records Management Strategy.
